You can use the Search Term Report found in Brand Analytics as a research tool to find out the consumer trends or to understand how to optimize your product listing.
When looking for consumer trends, you’re going to understand which items are the most popular on Amazon and which terms are most commonly used to search for a certain category of products. It helps you to identify your competitors depending on terms, conversion share, and click share.
You need to go on the Amazon Search Terms report to find the database of Amazon Search Terms, then:
You can choose the department of the product
You can insert a specific keyword you want to look at
You can enter an ASIN of a product (e.g. a competitor’s one)
You can narrow down your search by choosing the reporting range (e.g., the last week, the last month, the last year, etc.)
You can choose your date range
To find out what research trends are searched for the most, you can select the department you’re interested in and find out which products and search terms have received the most traffic.
On this generic report, with no particular Search Term or Department, you can see what is searched on Amazon the most. You can also see the actual demand for these products.
In this case, the highest demanded product is an iPhone charger.
So, if you want to start selling on Amazon, this is the way to discover what products are sold and their actual demand.
On the Report, you can find:
Tells you exactly what customers type in when searching for a product
