How to use Brand Analytics reports

How to use Brand Analytics reports

‌You can use the Search Term Report found in Brand Analytics as a research tool to find out the consumer trends or to understand how to optimize your product listing.

‌When looking for consumer trends, you’re going to understand which items are the most popular on Amazon and which terms are most commonly used to search for a certain category of products. It helps you to identify your competitors depending on terms, conversion share, and click share.

‌How to analyze the Brand Analytics Report

‌You need to go on the Amazon Search Terms report to find the database of Amazon Search Terms, then:

You can choose the department of the product

‌You can insert a specific keyword you want to look at

‌You can enter an ASIN of a product (e.g. a competitor’s one)

‌You can narrow down your search by choosing the reporting range (e.g., the last week, the last month, the last year, etc.)

‌You can choose your date range

‌To find out what research trends are searched for the most, you can select the department you’re interested in and find out which products and search terms have received the most traffic.

‌On this generic report, with no particular Search Term or Department, you can see what is searched on Amazon the most. You can also see the actual demand for these products.

‌In this case, the highest demanded product is an iPhone charger.

‌So, if you want to start selling on Amazon, this is the way to discover what products are sold and their actual demand.

‌On the Report, you can find:

‌Search Term

‌Tells you exactly what customers type in when searching for a product

‌Search Frequency Rank

‌Tells you the ranking on Amazon of the product

‌The iPhone charger is the number 1 product searched on Amazon

#1 Clicked ASIN

‌Is the number 1 clicked ASIN after typing in the Search Term

‌You also get the #2 and #3 clicked ASIN, all followed by:

‌#1/#2/#3 Product Title

‌#1/#2/#3 Click Share (%) and #1/#2/#3 Conversion Share (%)

‌These percentages are extremely important because if you know that people are clicking on that listing a lot and they have a high conversion share, you know that they are performing well and you need to copy or replicate some aspects of those products, like:

  • Title
  • Images
  • Coupons (if they use them)
  • Price

You need to understand why they have such a good CTR by paying attention to how their listing looks and understand how to optimize yours.
